I'd happily forego all of those things for the ability for retain my food and drink within me for sufficent time to enable me to gain some digestive benefit.

I think perhaps being ill is "bollocks" rather than "the bollocks" which I assume is a contraction of "the dog's bollocks". It's definitely not the mutt's nuts.

(Am I still making something which is remotely mistakeably as "sense"? I don't think I can tell any more, I think my brain has dribbled out of my ear...)

Random,
Aye, it's rubbish. Amazingly boring, too. I certainly don't recommend this as something to do the next time you have a few days off work :(But Why?https://www.blogger.com/profile/18410865104797473854noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8626678050222817485.post-78791538199388485652008-04-20T11:51:00.000+01:002008-04-20T11:51:00.000+01:00No - that metaphor has been bothering me. When pe...No - that metaphor has been bothering me. When people say something is the bollocks that usually means it's good, doesn't it? So being ill isn't that, it's - no, I won't take you to that part of the anatomy. It's the pits, anyway. Not to say that some pits might in some respects have been good things. But this pit isn't, especially when you are bored and have reached the end of the internet rainbow.Reading the Signshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06338983880105866139noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8626678050222817485.post-23346527648833680952008-04-20T11:15:00.000+01:002008-04-20T11:15:00.000+01:00Your unwellness sounds decidedly unpleasant. I feel I should have some sage words to offer on the subject of indisposition, the spiritual benefits thereof, how suffering enobles the spirit and refines the personality, how one should use such pauses in life for reflection about the things that really matter in life - but I don't. Being ill is the bollocks. Just get better - and don't get the T shirt.Reading the Signshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06338983880105866139noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8626678050222817485.post-35430776482630336982008-04-20T10:16:00.000+01:002008-04-20T10:16:00.000+01:00Grande Poobah,Welcome. Thanks for dropping by my blog and thanks again for the typo - I feel I could make very effective use of "freadful" at the moment, I am certain that's how I feel.

I'm also certain that the sole purpose of Daytime TV (DTV) programmes is to make staying at home seem a worse fate than working, and thus is a weapon against voluntary unemployment. Some people seem immune to its dubious charms, however, and whatever effectiveness it may have had seems to have worn off. For me, it looks like I shall be spending Monday propped up in bed finishing off some documentation I've been writing for too long, and definitely not succumbing to DTV.

DJ,
Thanks for the meme - I will pick it up today after my next experiment (and possible after-effects) to find a food or liquid which hangs around inside me for longer than a few minutes...
